This post was very helpful as I’m trying to figure out how to get more amino acids into my diet for a few reasons (sleep, protein, brain and overall health). I didn’t realize that protein and supplementing with protein powder does the same thing. Thank you for clarifying. Obviously, there is so much more than that but Annie, you have such a wealth of information here and it’s easy to find. Thank you!!! Xo, Dana

Hi Rachel. I included collagen peptides in the next post, this one was getting long! But in short, there are some good reasons for taking collagen but it probably doesn't contribute to your protein needs in a meaningful way. More soon!

So timely! I ran out of my current protein powder last night, and now I'm going to wait to hear the recommendations in the next edition! I had never considered how processed they were and am interested to learn about other brands that might be a better fit for me now that I'm more focused on brain health.

Thank you for starting the deep dive into protein powders! I’ve been using “Isopure Whey Protein Powder” and the info today was super helpful (I.e. third party testing).
